Supporting parents and carers of students at Nether Stowe School

Do you have a child at Nether Stowe School, or are planning to enrol them?

To support your child, the school have signed up to our learning platform, Educake.

Here at Educake, we know that classwork, homework and exam revision can be a lot for young people to deal with. It’s also tough on families. That’s why we’ve combined all three challenges into one easy platform.

Educake is a simple tool that helps your child do revision and homework in a quick and simple way. They can do short quizzes on their phone or computer. It helps them understand what they know, and what they need to practise more. The teachers can also see this, giving attention to students that may need support.

We have designed Educake to be a safe place that helps your child learn and be their best version of themselves. They can build confidence through low-stakes quizzing, and get all their homework sorted in one place. No more lost homework!

Curious about how it works? Here are a couple of short videos so you can see what Educake looks like:

Accessibility

We recognise that education and assessment should be a platform for all. We now offer a range of features to support learners with additional needs in mainstream schools, including:

  • A range of colour modes, fonts and spacing
  • Different types of questions – multiple choice and free text
  • Personalised revision quizzes, which adapt according to individual knowledge gaps

We are continuously working to improve features for SEND students, adding accessibility functionality throughout our platform.

What do students think?

We’ve found that students have received Educake extremely well, building confidence with school work.

Saying goodbye to paper homework is not only better for the environment, but it helps students who may struggle keeping on top of sheets of paper homework. They can access it all at the click of a button.

Here are some clips from students, giving insight into what they like about Educake:

Need some guidance
on how to log in?

No need to panic – this handy instruction manual can help.

Our MD, Nicola Allen, as a parent of secondary school-aged children, wanted to write a personal letter to welcome you to Educake.

Here is an introductory letter for parents/carers of students from year 7 onwards, and a year 11-specific letter can be found here.

Nicola has also written a blog about the ups and downs of getting through GCSEs as a parent.
You might see bits of your own story in it.
