Reading regularly over the summer is one of the simplest ways to boost your child’s confidence, vocabulary, and readiness for the next school year. This parent-focused session is hosted by Educake and led by Kathryn Taylor, Schools Development Manager at Chapter One. Kathryn will share easy, realistic strategies to help children enjoy reading on their own during the holidays.

She will explore why independent reading matters, how to motivate reluctant readers, and ways to build small, positive reading habits into everyday life. You will also hear suggestions for choosing engaging books, using free resources, and supporting your child’s transition to the next school year through stories and conversations at home.

Chapter One is a registered charity that works with schools across the UK to strengthen early reading and build children’s confidence as independent readers. The charity is officially partnered with the Department for Education National Year of Reading, and Kathryn is also a trained Red Cross mental health champion, bringing valuable expertise in supporting children’s wellbeing alongside their reading development.

The webinar will also include a live Q&A, which gives parents an opportunity to send any questions they might have.

We know parents are incredibly busy, if you can’t make this exact time, register anyway and we will send the recording direct to your inbox to watch at a time that is more convenient.
